Perry Mason is an American legal drama produced by Paisano Productions that ran for 271 episodes from September 1957 to May 1966 on the CBS television network.
Perry Mason was portrayed by Raymond Burr. Burr returned as Mason in 30 made-for-TV movies that aired from 1985 to 1995.
Barbara Hale played Perry's confidential secretary, Della Street.
Perry's personal gumshoe, Paul Drake, was played by William Hopper.
William Talman played Mason's hapless adversary, District Attorney Hamilton Burger.

Series revival
An unsuccessful attempt to re-create the series was made in 1973. Starring Monte Markham and Brett Somers, ''The New Adventures of Perry Mason'' only lasted half a season.

Made-for-TV movies

A total of 30 films movies were made between 1985 and 1995. Raymond Burr starred in 26 of them. When Burr died in 1993, Paul Sorvino and Hal Holbrook starred in the final four episodes titled "A Perry Mason Mystery."

Perry Mason Returns (1985)
Perry gives up his seat on the bench to defend his intrepid secretary, Della Street, when she is accused of murder. Perry hires Paul Drake Jr., the son of an old colleague, as his investigator and reveals the truth behind the slaying of Mr. Gordon, an entrepreneur with many enemies.

Perry Mason: The Case of the Notorious Nun (1986)
At the request of his friend Archbishop Corro, Perry defends Sister Margaret, a nun accused of murdering a handsome priest who was examining a hospital's finances and with whom she may have been romantically involved. Assisted by his loyal legal secretary, Della, Perry relies heavily on his investigator Paul to turn up useful evidence.

Perry Mason: The Case of the Shooting Star (1986)
Perry defends a comedian with a flair for the dramatic, who barges onto the set of a talk show and shoots the outrageous host with a gun he claims is full of blanks. The only problem is, the bullets were real and the host is dead. Reeling from the killing, the defendant turns to Perry to prove that someone tampered with his gun.

Perry Mason: The Case of the Murdered Madam (1987)
Perry investigates the killing of Suzanne, who is the wife of Della's friend, Tony. Turns out, Tony's in the hot seat as secrets start to unfold, such as Suzanne's "career," which was that of a madam. Meanwhile, Paul Drake Jr. looks for a lady who was at Suzanne's house during an important business meeting, which may have something to do with bank fraud.

The same magazine is taking a hit from Perry, who is suing it for printing a story about a love connection with Della.

Perry Mason: The Case of the Sinister Spirit (1987)
Book publisher Jordan White is having problems with one of his authors, an unbalanced assclown named David Hall. Hall has written a book which not only defames White but also an astrologer, a psychic, and a B-movie actress famous for her work in slasher movies. All four are invited to spend a bizarre evening in a deserted hotel during which Hall is bumped off. Jordan White calls in old friend Perry when he is charged with the killing.

Perry Mason: The Case of the Avenging Ace (1988)
Following the slaying of an eyewitness whose testimony would have overturned Air Force Officer Kevin Parks's murder conviction, Perry takes over the imprisoned airman's appeal and tries to prove the real killer is still on the loose.

Perry Mason: The Case of the Lady in the Lake (1988)
With help from his trusty investigator Paul Drake Jr., Perry attempts to exonerate Billy Travis, a retired tennis player accused of drowning his wealthy wife in a nearby lake. As Mason and Drake draw closer to the truth, they discover that all of the clues point to a startling scheme linking the missing woman's traumatic past to the present day.

Perry takes to the classroom to host a mock trial workshop. Assistant Kate Ford tells world-famous magician David Katz that she's pregnant with his child on the date he's supposed to put on a benefit show for charity. At the show a trick goes wrong and nasty Katie assumes room temperature. The magician is blamed and ends up on trial.
